I am running windows XP on a relatively new PC. The
problem is that at random times for no reason the
computer shutsdown instantley and i dont get a chance to
see an error message or error code it then starts back up
straight away,i've checked the fans to see if there
working and they are. I also keep getting
programes i'm ruuning closed down and i dont know why.
I've followed advive from here and installed ad-ware and
spybots but they dont seem to have done anything to help,
can anyone help me PLEASE!

The default settings for a new XP installation tell it to reboot
automatically when a nasty error occurs (really dumb). To stop this:
1) Go to start->control panel, select 'System Properties' the click on
the Advanced tab.
2) In this window select the 'Startup and Recovery' settings button.
3) Turn off 'Automatically restart', and make sure the options above it
are ON.

BTW, after step (1) you may also go into 'error reporting' and select
'disable error reporting' and tick 'but notify me when critical error
occurs'

Hopefully the next time the PC won't restart but will log something
instead. Good luck!
