When desktop first comes up, and when starting some
programs, a small window appears, stating, the system (or
program) can't find "Shell.dll", I can just click
on "O.K." button, but program doesn't start. Ran a search
for "Shell.dll", and it's many places in system -
different shells, in different places, apparently with
different responsibilities. How can i correct this?

Hi,

Method 1:
=========
1. Click Start -> Run
2. SFC /Scannow

Method 2:
=========
There should be 2 copies of shell.dll. One in the C:\windows\system folder
and other one in the c:\windows\system32 folder. Please copy the file if
one of the folder does not have the file.

Also check for any adware, spyware,etc programs that could be installed on
your system. If found remove by using utilities from the internet. Please
update
your anti-virus and run a full scan of your system.

Hope this helps ...... :)
