Michael

Whilst checking my Windows Services, I have discovered a
service called Bamkhr. It has no description, no
status, startup type is automatic and log on is shown as
local system. I have scanned for viruses, spyware and
adware with negative results.

Does anyone have the remotest idea what this is?

Thanks

Michael

It doesn't come up on any of my lists. Find out which executable is started
through the registry and look at the properties. Maybe that will give you a
clue.

Tried that, nothing in registry. I can't delete it from
services either. I've disabled it to see if it has any
effect. Can items from uninstalled software be left in
the Services? I can only imagine that its a relic from
something long removed.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, much appreciated.

Cheers

Michael

Yes, a badly constructed uninstall will do that.

Now if that is showing up in the services, it has to be in the register as
well. When you open regedit highlight your computer on the very top and then
do a search with all 3 checkboxes checked.
