Windows Service Pack 2

I'm running Windows XP Pro, and the latest IE. I've reloaded three times
now. Everytime I finish with SP 2, I lose services, and IE works then
doesn't work. Very speratic.

Is this a known issue?
 
Sorry Dave - forgot to ask - are you downloading or trying to install etc
from the CD. I am rushing things a bit tonight.

Actually, depending on which web portal he is using
it may be possible for him to cross-post to WU NG.

I couldn't remember how it's done--had to use the Help. <w>

Since you are using OE it might have been easier for you to do the cross-post
for him. Then if the web portal does host the cross-posted newsgroup
he can at least just click on the newsgroup link in your message header
and do some searching and reading in that newsgroup's archive.
Your link provides the same possibility without the problem of knowing
which portal he is using. However, initiating the cross-post yourself
additionally could have allowed you to see whatever continuation
there might have been with the thread from the other newsgroup.
