Which windows software is the most secure?
That's something everyone can have their own opinions on and their own
experiences based on the problems they see. People see different
things, various problems, and unique issues that others may or may not
see. So they're usually going to recommend what they use as "the best"
but it may not suit you at all for the kinds of problems you get.
Viruses, BTW, only cover ONE area of malware that will try to infect
your computer. Then there are trojans, worms and several other sorts
with new ones appearing every day.
IMO best setup is:
-- a 2-way firewall - Zone Alarm is decent.
-- updated Antivirus with auto-update capabilities - Norton is decent.
-- at least 3 constantly updated spyware detectors - no program as yet
can do it all; they each have their own strengths and weaknesses and
again, the best is the one that works best for YOU. Ask and you'll get a
long list of what people here use. Beware the dodgy ones.
AVG
AVAST
F-Prot
CA
Avira
Norton
McAfee
Bit Defender
NOD32
and many more I can't think of right now.
-- A reliable backup strategy implemented and used faithfully.
