This is the second posting of this. Don't know where the first one went! A Windows Security Centre shield has appeared in my notification area. I think it's a virus/trojan. I can't get rid of it! Has anyone else had this?

"I've got a Windows Security shield on my notification area. I'm pretty
sure it's malware but can't see where it's filed and Malwarebytes and
Zonealarm have left it alone. It seems to be responsible for removing
some file associations. Any ideas on how to remove it?"

The above is quoted from your first post. My reply was and is as
follows:

You don't mention an AV program. If you are using MSSE (MicroSoft
Security Essentials) there is a shield in the notification area which
will display in different colours depending on the status it detects.
