Windows Vista should have a built-in instant search indexing. So, I am not
really sure what Windows Search 4.0 for Windows Vista for
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...7F-C51B-49CD-B505-95B91B453284&displaylang=en).
Is there any difference between built-in instant search and Windows Search
4.0?
I think what came with Vista is Windows Search 3.x. I installed 4 and
find it EXCELLENT. Best I have seen, fast and accurate and does the
E-mails as well as attachments perfectly. Indexing seems unobtrusive as
well. It just installed, I assume over what ever Search was there
native from original

I tried to install the update for windows vista, search 4.0.
however when it got to like 95 % it froze 8 hour straight, then when i
tried to stop it it would not stop. then when tried to shut down the computer
it went to the screen where it said don't power down the computer windows is
installing an update ect. so i let it do its then 4 hours then i hit the
power button. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this update from freezing
it does it quit often
