I just upgraded from windows98se to windows xp, I also
changed from a laptop to a pc. The web pages I visited on
my laptop, I never had to scroll horizontally and now I
do. Is there anything I can do to change this? None of
the windows fits my screen.

Have you tried adjusting video resolution?

I just tried to change my video resolution and my screen
colors have darkened. It isn't allowing me to change it
back. But it did resolve the screen issue. I only have
the option for 16bit or 32bit for my color quality. But I
know this monitor can do alot better. How do I change the
dimmness?

Thanks for taking your time with me.

Your screen resolution is probably lower than it shoud/could be.

RIGHT-CLICK on the desktop (not over any icon) and select "Properties"

Then select the "Settings" tab on top of the Display Properties page.

Your screen resolution will be displayed in a measure ment of NNN x
NNN. Generally, depending on what size monitor you have, you will want
it to be at least 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768, but this just depends on
how it is most comfortable to you. Perhaps even higher.

MAKE SURE you have the appropriate device drivers installed for your
video adapter before you try changing screen resolution.

HTH.

The 32bit for the color quality is the best you can get. You may need to use
the physical buttons on the monitor itself to adjust the brightness and
contrast to suit your needs.

I have tried to adjust the monitior physically. The
contrast is still very dim. I have tried to change to
different modes and either it doen't change anything or
my screen becomes jumbled. But the contrast is still very
dark where a moment ago it wasn't. I just changed the
video resolution to 800x600. That is when the contrast
changed.
