Hey,

When I boot up and load from the CD because my XP installation is a little
screwy so I decided to do a repair. I know how it has to be done after I
agree to the license it should tell me there is a installation of windows in
the dir. But it doesn't it carry's on to telling to me to partition my HD.
Is my XP really that messed up? I have XP Pro Legal copy, 512 MB DDr Ram,
AMD XP 1600+, 80 Gig HD, NVIDIA Feforce 2 MX/MX 400. Please Help.

If you make it to the screen that should offer Repair, the option will not
appear if the existing installation is beyond repair. This is consistent
with other Windows setup.exe program's that also offered the repair option.

May want to review the choices you're making on those setup screens to be
sure that you are getting to the right place. This site has screenshots of
each screen you will encounter:

It also covers several other recovery options. If you are unable to repair
your installation, you might consider performing a "parallel installation"
-- a temporary setup of Windows that allows you to grab important data
before starting over.
