Windows protection error ????

First boot of new computer after loading Win98se, get black screen with
this message; While initializing device NDIS; Windows Protection Error,
restart your computer.
Ive done this sevral times with same message.
The only things connected are the agp video card, monitor, floppy and
80gig hd.
Any help would be appreciated

I think NDIS is related to your network card. Does the motherboard
have one built in?

If you can boot up in Safe Mode, you might try looking in your System
Properties/Hardware/Device Manager. If you see a network card listed,
remove it and reboot.

Try to download RAM diagnosis program such as "DocMemory RAM
Diagnostic" http://www.simmtester.com.
