How do you return Windows Explorer 'not' to "Show Files"
in the right hand panel when highlighting the 'Program
Files' and 'Windows' folders in the left hand panel.

Mine used to hide the files with a fancy picture screen
but not any more. I now want to restore it so than nobody
else sees the files and is tempted to tamper with them.

Windows ME contained such an option which based on a FOLDER.HTT file.
This is no longer available in Windows XP, but you can hide system
files and protected files by setting the corresponding options in the
Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View.
