I am tying to patch my motherboard but when I apply a
patch and the load windows up I get the product
activation service window.

This should not apply to me as I have an OEM copy of
windows. Surely this should not happen.

I rang the number to put my number in it didnt like it so
I got put through to an "adviser" who said the number I
gave does not even exist! He said he could not help
(thanks) and told me to ring customer service. Tried
that number they are not there on a weekend! Great and
only there during office hours during the week!

So what can I do?

The only way I can get back into windows is by resetting
my BIOS to a version that does not support the £300
graphics card I just bought!

Ask your OEM system supplier for help. Obviously they've 'locked' your copy
of Windows to something in the bios.
