I ran the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor in anticipation of upgrading the
Windows Vista. The report told me to remove Windows PowerShell and MS
FrontPage extensions 2002; which I did. (I got a warning that certain
programs might not work properly if I uninstalled PowerShell, but went ahead
and uninstalled anyway.)
Now, when I try to open Outlook 2003, I get this error:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong
version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software.
Please reinstall Outlook.
And when I try to run any Office Application I get this error:
The installation source for this product is not abailable. Verify that the
source exists and that you can access it.
Which is the same error I receive when I try to reinstall Office 2003 from
the original disk.
I then reinstalled PowerShell, thinking/hoping it would fix the problem, to
no availe.
I thought it might be a good idea for Office to be working properly before
the upgrade to Vista, but I need your advise on this. What should I do at
this point? Uninstall PowerShell again and go ahead with the upgrade to
Vista?
I am planning on upgrading to Office 2007 too.
Your speady reply is most appreciated.
Thanks,
John Kisha
