I have a Dell PowerVault NAS device running Windows Powered Server (the NAS
version of Windows 2000). Dell recommends that updates not be installed on
these servers. I don't remember where I read that, but it sticks out in my
head.

Does anyone have experience with Windows Powered servers and that various
updates Windows Update provides? I'd like to know if I should be leaving
this system unpatched.

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

Thanks for your posting here.

In general, we recommend that you install the Windows updates to keep the
computer more stable and secure. I would like to recommend that you contact
Dell support to confirm this issue. Maybe they are aware of some known
issues about the server with some released updates.
