Windows password and startup script

I have got some doubts regarding win 2000 server.

1)I want that when someone logs into the domain he should
get a
dispplay like

vmehta(Vijay Mehta)last logged into the domain on 08-March-
04 at 4:30
P.M IST.

Is it possible by writing some kind of script?.
2)We want to implement password policy where we should
have passwords
which are a mix of alphabets and numeric numbers.

When i enables "password much meet complexity
reqiuirements " in
group policy,then it enables alphanumeric plus special
characters in
password policy ,while we wants only alphanumeric password.

I hope i am clear.
Please tell me the solution of these.

The scripting you wish is possible and fairly straight forward and simple.
You can use perl or vbscript, as well as others. If you want examples go to
the script center. Once written just run it via gpo.

As far as the password filter you will need to purchase a third party
product. Such as Password Policy Enforcer, this is what we use. There are
several others as well.
