My Outlook will not exit properly from time to time- the
message "please wait while Microsoft Outook exits" hangs
on the screen terminally. I have to shut the computer down
and restart it to resolve it. Can someone advise? Thanks.

Outlook or Outlook Express?
If Outlook, one thing that could cause that is using Word as your editor.
Do a help search in Outlook to find out how to change that. Better to have
that unchecked.
Also, you don't have to reboot... Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up task
manager. Click on the Processes Tab and look for all "Outlook.exe"
processes and End them.
