When I open a Textfile with Textpad, the Textpadwindow appears
outside my desktop.

[ ] <- Textpad opens here. And some other Applications too.
------------- What can I do?

Hi,

Check the display controls on your monitor, not the ones in the control
panel. You may have one of the horizontal or vertical (or both) positional
settings set incorrectly.

My monitor is correct configured. It must be a windowsxp problem.
It helps not to move the applicationwindow in the middle of the desktop and close it.
The next time I open it, it is outside the desktop again.

Hi Markus,

This textpad program is not the Windows notepad utility? Try deleting any
associated preference files under:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data

(may be a subfolder somewhere under this directory, so you may need to
search a bit).

I have this problem not only with textpad. A lot of programs opens outside my
Desktop. For example the explorer, hatdwaremanager, TuneUp2003.
But not all. ACDSee, Mozilla, GetRight are working right.
I'm using the Catalyst 3.8 driver.

Hi Markus,

Ok, so how long has this been going on?
What were you doing or what did you install/change just before it started?

The point is, these things don't happen randomly, some event had to trigger
it. We need to know what it was. When you drag something back onto the
screen (ctrl+alt+m and use the arrow keys), try closing it using
shift+file/close to see if that re-centers it.

I have installed at last week ATI Catalys 3.8.
But it started not after this.
This weekend i installed Mozilla 1.5 final.
That was the last thing i have installed.

That is the problem. The program doesn't save his position at closing. "sometimes"

Hi Markus,

And, if you uninstall mozilla?
