The Windows One Care Beta is now available for Vista. I have installed it
and everything looks OK. So you can give it a try. Perhaps will help with
some of the anitvirus problems many have experienced using Vista.

Well, if any AV is to work flawlessly in Vista- it should be from the
same company who writes the source code of the OS.

But, Beta 1.5 for Vista only installs for 32-bit versions of Vista. Sheesh!
we 64-bit folks sure are second class ;)

Don't worry, one day the 64-bitters will rule the world! (of course their
reign will last about that long, too!)
As more and more people get 64-bit capable hardware, interest will grow
until the number of 64-bit users reaches critical mass.

Dell, HP, Gateway and many others are now selling complete AMD or Intel
Dual-Core 64-bit systems for less than $1,000, fully configured for Vista
including the Media Center.

I picked up the HP m7580n about two months ago for $850 (no monitor -- I
have the Dell 2007WFP) and love it. AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600", 2gb
RAM, 320GB hard drive, Nvidia GEForce 7300 (the video card I will upgrade
eventually or link it to another SLI card) etc. etc. It is a wonder Vista
64-bit machine. Now, we need some 64-bit software to make RC2 x64 worth the
struggle.

64-bit already rules the world --- somebody just needs to get MS to believe
it ;)

I have the Trend Micro a/v program from RC1 working in RC2 ok.
It didn't want to update itself at first but I think that was an issue
at Trend Micro and their servers.

Wouldn't mind trying One Care but I'm leery of attempting to uninstall
PC-cillan to do it.

I've thought about trying WOC 1.5, too. I'm just not a big fan of programs
that try to do so much, like OneCare. I was using Trend's beta on Vista-
but, only the AV component. I removed it because I could never get it to
complete a full scan. I'm using Avast right now, it seems to work well.
Actually, I'm just waiting for NOD32 to get their Vista version out- it's not
free, but, it is the best.
