Windows NT Server to XP Pro: Will it support my home network?

Hello: I am currently running NT Server on a home network that consists of three windows desktops under a NT Server. If I were to convert my NT Server machine to XP Professional, can I continue to use my network? If I do a complete install of Windows XP professional (not an upgrade), will it support the simple, typical network configuration I currently have? Will XP Professional prompt me and walk me through the steps to configure my network during installation, or, do I have no choice but to upgrade to the expensive Windows 2003 server? Thank you all for your responses.

<snip> simple, typical network <snip> ??

In order to provide specific answers, you need to pose specific questions.

Are you running a Peer-to-Peer network? -- yes

Are you running a Client-Server network?

Xp will let you network the pc's on your network has a
feature to set up a small office network that walks u step
by step and does all the necessary stuff.
This will work for u if u are just doing a simple
network using a work group. if u Ntserver was set up as a
domain controller then xp is not what you are looking for
upgrade to either 2000 2000 advance server 2003 server etc
at the moment u still can order a trial of 2003 server to
evaluate or the 2003 Small business server I like the 2003
small business walks u pretty much thru the steps of
creating a website dns dhcp pretty much its like a it
dummies special.
