I have Windows XP OS. I ran into an issue with a game software (Black and White Delux) that stated the software is not compatible with NT 3.0 and 4.0. With that in mind I install the software. I have not been able to run the software and the errors are pointing to NT 5.1 Build 2600. I ran my Norton and in the OS it stated the system is Windows 5.1 (2600). I am lost as to the meaning.

Can anyone direct me to a place I can read up and learn more about XP? I am out of ideas.

Did the software say that it is compatably with XP ? Jym

I would contact EA games thru their web site. Do you have sp1 installed?
look under system under control panel or open an explorer window and go to
help about for your version
!
Other people it seems have had the problem but the game does say it runs on
XP as well as
Windows 98 / Me / 2000

I had the same problem with Black and White. Program would close with no
error. I un-installed the program then installed again by right-clicking on
the setup program and choosing "Run As". I chose Administrator and installed
it. It seems even with administrator rights, the program did not like my
user account. Once installed with Administrator ... it works fine.

Hope this helps.
