windows not displaying right..help please

Hope this isn't double posted...think i did something wrong...I was messing
around yesterday trying to solve what i thought was a simple problem with
windows media..downloaded media 11, needed some updates, things still
weird...tried a spyware scan...NOW, MANY of the windows won't display
right-their outline/outside of the box is visible, but nothing inside-can't
do system restore b/c there is nothing displayed int the window..my browser
locks in an error saying comcast might have problem with internet
security...Mcafee won't open- the outside/outline of Security Center is
there, but nothing inside..could get to this community area , but it would
not let me sign in..working on different computer now..the Help and Support
window in control panel won't even open to try a troubleshooting
wizard....ANY ideas on what I did, and/or how to fix..I am completely at a
loss..running xp windows media 2005...
