Windows - No Disk (message box on boot)

When booting/starting my computer, I get this message box that says "Windows
- No Disk" There is no disk in drive. Please insert disk into drive. cancel,
try again, continue.

You can click cancel or continue and after a few times clicking it, the
computer continues just fine. Any ideas?

Thanks, Willis

Sorry, problem replying 1st time.
I have the same problem. It happened after I stupidly update by bios from
my computer mfr website's updates. Have you been able to fix your problem? I
started a new thread also asking for help. Thanks.

Check my thread 'Windows - no disk (there is no disk in the drive)" dated
10/24/05. I tried the replies and I don't get the message anymore. I also
clicked on the support link in the message. I tried so many different things
for other problems I had to that I am not sure which one worked. Sorry, hope
this helps you.

Thanks Gail - I fixed it, FINALLY -

Immediately after starting up my computer, I clicked on "F8", then used the
"SAFE BOOT" mode to boot up, IT WORKED, then I repeated the boot up again
only returning the mode to "Normal" and it still worked. I've rebooted
3-more times and the nasty "No Disk -Windows" box hasn't returned - I don't
know what I did that pissed off my computer and started the no disk problem,
but I've been living with it for 2-weeks.

Thanks for your reply
