Please help. I am using the Home Edition of XP. Windows Movie Maker is there but I can not save to a CD. I have followed various guidances offered but my system does not have a check box for enabling the CD to be written to. I can burn both audio and video CDs but Movie Maker will still not recognize the cd-writer.

Hi there,

It sounds like you tried this already:

(1) go to MyComputer
(2) R-Click the drive in question
(3) Select Properties
(4) L-Click Recording
(5) Make sure that the "Enable CD recording on this
drive" option-box has a checkmark in it, if not just L-
click the box.

If you don't have such an option, make sure you are
clicking on the correct drive in step (2) above -- a read
only device will not show the "Recording" button under
properties. Make certain the CD you are putting in the
drive is not already used -- I'm not certain how MM2 will
deal with a used RW CD. Finally, I would make certain
all available Win XP updates have been installed.
