windows movie maker

I am attempting to use pictures from my digital camera to
make a slide show movie with sound. I can do this but
when I play it my pictures look awful. You can see the
pixels. Is there anyway I can make my pictures look like
the originals once I put it into a movie? Should I be
using some other software other than windows movie maker?
