I can't open movie maker
i get error message"Unspecified error"--
I've been looking for help for hours,
microsoft sends me to emachines, they send me back to microsoft ... then to
their website which isn't working in the US....HELP

Two questions...

Do you know which version of Movie
Maker you are using?

Do you use an app called Folder Lock?
if you do...uninstalling it may be your fix.

newsgroup on Google Groups you will get
lots of hits on unspecified error:

I have windows xp home version 2002 srv pk 2
WMM 2.1 .4026.0
I don't think I have "Folder Lock"
Really appreciate any help....
 
Just a question....Are you opening your program from the start button and
when you find the movie maker icon, does the program open up to the alert
window.
Sometimes if you have used it to build a video, and then you delete the
file, it will look for it again. If that isnt your problem it might be that
you have to reinstall Movie maker again.
