I am new to movie maker, and my daughter created a video that we want to burn
to DVD. Now I find that I cannot burn to DVD only CD with movie maker. If I
download Movie Maker 2, can I transfer the file made in Movie Maker to Movie
Maker 2 so that I can create a DVD?

MM2 doesn't burn DVDs either... you need to take the saved movie to DVD
software.... start with the software that came with your burner.

So, I can burn it to a DVD from movie maker through the software that came with my computer?

not with Movie Maker... but if your computer came with a DVD burner, it
must have included some DVD software.

This is very frustrating. I have followed the steps for using DLA with your recorder drive and am still not successful. I can load the disk in the DVD drive, it shows up like it is there, take it to my DVD player with my TV and nothing loads. FRUSTRATING!!

DLA (Drive Letter Access) is software that treats a CD like a harddrive
"sort-of" in that you can drag and drop files back and forth. This will NOT
work to make a DVD that you can play on your home DVD Player. All this will
do is give you a DVD disk with a video file on it that can play on a
computer. To create a "proper" DVD you need a DVD Authoring program. One may
or may not have come with your computer (Possibly Nero or Sonic MyDVD) but
regardless that is what you need. I have a list of popular DVD Authoring
programs on my website along with download links. Most of them offer free
trial versions so you can check it out before spending a dime.
