The file C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Bob Marketing
Stull\emailmarketingcashmachine.com\email marketing cash machine\raw
video\03RespEmailDiffPromo.avi cannot be imported because the codec required
to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried
to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and
then try to import the file again.

I get the message above, I downloaded the codec and installed with no
success after restarting system. Also went into Options menu and checked
everything off, still giving me same error message above, help...

Did you check the .avi file with GSpot to
see what codec it needs?

Hello again,

Just tried the software and excellent way to check, it says I do not need
codec, that I have the correct one installed. Again, I made sure all options
were checked in menu, still getting same error message, even after restarting
computer, thank you for your time to help me.

Maybe the file is corrupt in some way.

Might be worth a try to use the following
free software to convert the .avi to the
..wmv format and try to import that.

Quick Media Converter
http://tinyurl.com/a35y6n
or...
http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=92&Itemid=72

Open the program.

Drag / Drop the .avi file into the program

Click the WMV icon on the tool bar

Choose...Windows Media Player format .wmv (custom resize)

Click...Start Conversion button
