Hi Eric,

What exactly are you trying to do when you say you are editing? Are you
adding effects/transitions?

Thanks,
Latha

I am trying to make a movie and am trying to add transitions/effects you know just using the movie maker. Also I did happen to make a small movie but some of the clips I wanted to play in there entirety didn't. It only plays them for a few seconds before it moves on to the next clip. How do you make them play in there entirety.

I am having the same problem.. I import the video file and when I try to do
a fade transition or something like that, as soon as I click the operand MM2
just closes. It is the adding the effect and transitions that causes the MM2
shutdown. No warning or anything, just quits and goes away. You can execute
it again just fine, but your work is gone.

Found this on an other thread.. I changed the divxf.ax to the recommended
divxf.ax_ and it fixed my MM2.

This should help you out. Look on the toolbar on the right under problem
solving. Click on Hardware Acceleration and it will show you how to work
this issue out.

Here is what it sys..
The conflict with the divxaf.ax codec is today's single biggest reason for
MM2 crashing. Start with that one - find it, rename it (I suggest naming it
divxaf.ax_ so you can easily rename it back if you need to later), and then
test MM2. You don't need to reboot MM2 or anything to test it. If that's not
it, then go down this full page.

Have you checked out PapaJohn's website under the Problem
Solving...Acceleration and Codecs section?

Hey Eric,
If there is a chance that you have one of these codec problems then you should go and try *Rename Codecs* from John Kellys website at www.the-kellys.org it works well for me.

I downloaded the windows media encoder so now what do I do? I want to edit my video and then later burn it to DVD. I checked it out but i don't want to start anything until I know exactly what I need to do. The file I have is the MPEG, but it asks me if I want to convert it into wmv do I or not?? What if I want to go back and edit it again if it doesn't turn out the way i want it to? Thanx for the help......little by little I am understanding.
