Since I use a new, state of the art, (at least for me) computer, with
windows XP SP2, Movie Maker is unable to find my "Smile Cam SU 320 desk
camera on boot-up. ArcSoft VideoImpression as well as other video progrs'
have no problem finding the hardware.
If however, I turn the PC off, remove its cables, re-boot and then re-attach
the cables, I immediately get the promised results. Then again, at other
times MovieMaker finds the camera on first boot-up. I appreciate any advice.
Thanks!

Thank you Cari, The Camera is a desktop camera, also known as a webcam,
manufactured by the SINTEC Corp (smilecam.com)

Windows Movie Maker is really designed to capture digital video... (from a
digital camcorder connected via firewire).

If the webcam came with third party editing software, you might want to try
that instead.

Thank you Cari - It worked once. The next time I needed to diconnect the
cables and re-boot. I shall not persue this any further, since you have
informed me, that the Movie Maker is for camcorders.
