Windows Movie Maker 2 Capture

I am using a dell 4550 with a dell provided analog capture card. Am able to
capture video and audio with other applications eg. Sonic My DVD. In WMM2 I
am able to go through all capture steps until clicking the icon for "begin
Capture". At that point the file size increases but no video is captured
(though audio is captured). I am able to see the video but it will not
capture. On closing capture, I get an error message telling me that the
video capture device is not recognized and asking me to recheck connections.
This was tried but with no change in outcome.

The easiest and best is using a digital camcorder with a 'pass thru' setup,
so the digital camcorder does the conversion as the tape in the analog
camcorder plays.

Check the Analog Video Capture section of my website for devices being used
and comments about them from Movie Maker users..... personally I use a
Dazzle 80 if I'm not doing it with the 'pass-thru'.
