I recently installed SP-3 to Windows XP Home edition. Can someone tell me if
Windows Movie Maker will work with Service Pack -3?
Maybe you know of a different version of Movie Maker I can install... Please
help me out here. I really do not want to uninstall SP3 and reinstall SP2 if
I can help it.
Many thanks!

Movie Maker 2.1 should work with
WinXP SP3. (There is no update or
newer version) I guess you could try
the earlier Movie Maker version 2.0
but it may not work any better:

Apparently you are having issues? What
are they? Did you also install IE7?

Some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.

Thank you so much for your assistance here. Yes, I had IE7 and it had caused
some problems. Messages such as: "IE encountered a problem and had to close".
I have followed your suggestion and uninstalled IE7, reverting back to IE6.
Will now see if that helped any.
Now, with regard to Windows Movie Maker 2.1. I will go to the site you
provided and download the 2.1 version and see if can be made useful to me. If
not, I'll try the 2.0. I am in the process of copying my old VHS tapes to the
PC and burning to DVD's. I am hoping Movie Maker can do this for me without
crashing.
Again, thanks for your help.

Maybe you should have another look at my
previous message. I did not provide a link
to download Movie Maker 2.1...there is no
such download. Or maybe you were referring
to the message about downloading and
reinstalling SP2? Before you attempt that I'm
thniking you might want to uninstall SP3...

As for Movie Maker 2.0...if you decide to try
it be sure to create a System Restore point
before installing it. This way...if you have issues
with it you can revert to the earlier time when
2.1 was installed.

Another note here John since my last post. I selected the site you provided,
to download Movie Maker 2.1. and clicked on it. Then, an "AT&T Website
Finder" page came up with the following: Sorry, we could not find
"Javascript: void(0);" I have no idea where all this came from. Does all
this ring any bells with you. I'll wait for any replies that may come up.
