I have upgraded to build 5472 and everything seems stable except Windows Mobile Device Center. It seems to be complaining of rapi.dll or something, and doesn't run or sync. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Are you running Trendmicro Firewall by any chance?
I'd so suggest disable it and enable Windows Firewall, to avoid much
excercise of opening few ports.
I remember reading an article on enabling some ports for Activesync
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/troubleshoot.mspx
When I was running the Trendmicro Firewall with my 5472 build it gave me an
error.
I was able to just connect the device.
I have another problem though: When I connect my mobile device it gives me
the green screen asking me to connect the device: 1) set up my device
(allowing me to sync Contacts, Calander etc. and 2) Connect without setting
up.
It connects seamlessly when I choose the 2nd option.
When I try to setup my device to enable sync (option 1), it tells me that
the software update for Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) is not available
on the Microsoft Update, and that i can download it and install WMDC update
software from the Windows Mobile web site! but I don't see it anywhere on the
web site.

I have the same exact problem Mrug. I figured the message was due to not
having an internet connection at the time that I connected my windows mobile
device, however, after establishing a connection the problem persisted. I
hope Microsoft gets the fix out before the next major OS build.

For those interested parties, my setup:
Windows Vista 5472
HP Pavillion ZV5000 laptop
2GB RAM
80GB HDD
Motorola MPX220

I am running build 5472 as well and trying to use the Device Center for my
Treo 700w with WM5. I cannot use the setup and synch option either; however,
I can view the folders, etc. on the smartphone through the second option. I
tried manually going to Windows Update and downloading it as some people have
mentioned. It is not listed as either a regular update or a Windows Ultimate
Extras update as some have suggested.

The message I get when attempting the first option to set up the mobile
device says you can also get the update from the Windows Mobile website. But
I'm lost in trying to find that. No where to be found.

Any have any suggestions on this?
