have read most of the stuff about sudden program closure wih MM2 in XP
,including 'papjohn' and it seems only certain clips crash the program when
i try to edit them(?) I have re-installed before and that solved the problem
for awhile.. One set of clips i tried to edit dropped-out as i added the
second clip.. The only pattern is certain mpeg will shut it down, others do
not and i don't have a clue why. And i don't have the particular file (.ax)
that is supposed to be causing this..

Thanks, PapaJohn.. I will read throo your extensive page.. Actually, on
first cursory look, it appears trying to 'import' those codecs is not a
solution but may cause other problems(?)..Yikes.. This problem has developed
over time, meaning, i did not initially have ANY problem with MM2, so
perhaps some 3rd party app or codec may be causing this (something i have
downloaded since initial install of XP)...

I am having the same problem whenever I try to add transition effects or text. It's only a small file with 4 jpg images and an MP3 soundtrack. If anyone comes up with a solution for this it would be great as I can't create anything. I would use Pinnacle Studio but it doesn't have an option for adding MP3.

Yours sounds more like the Problem Solving > Acceleration and Codecs page of
the site rather than the MPEG2 one.
