Windows Messenger

I HATE Windows Messenger. HOW DO I GET RID OF IT (without
numerous calls or paying $35 for tech support). It came
with my Sony Vaio apparently. I keep getting a stupid pop
up saying I need to update and I can't get it to go away
using the delete command for programs. H E L P !!!!

J. Sauer, looks like there are many problems with Windows messenger working with MSN MEssenger on the same computer. This is from another person in the forums. Maybe this will work for you:

By: (e-mail address removed) (search by author) In: microsoft.public.windowsxp.messenger

One way is to remove net messenger and just use msn
messenger

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%
\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

copy and paste this into start>run

I was having the same problem, haven't had since removing
net messenger
