When starting Windows Messenger, the log-in screen appears. When I attempt
to log-in, I get a message saying I can't use WM until an update is
downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Windows Update site. After the
update is downloaded and installed, the WM log-in screen disappears and
there is no sign of WM - not on the task bar or anywhere else. When I
restart WM, I again get the message stating that I can't use it until the
update is downloaded and installed. I have tried this several times and
have restarted my computer after each update (even though I am not
instructed to do so). Has anyone else encountered this problem? I'm
running XP Home Edition. Thanks
