Windows Messenger Taking Over

Ok,
Lately when Windows messenger has been running in the
background without my knowledge. I have no icon in the
taskbar and no indication as to where it is being
initialized. The problem is that it is also logging me
in. Now I have just read a article that reminded me of
the Norton messenger scanner and I have since disabled
windows messenger scanning. If anyone can help me out
further with this (if they think there still may be an
issue) it would be appreciated. As well I don't want to
remove my passport from Windows because I do use MSN
messenger and like the auto login feature with it.

Try this, close Outlook Express, then download and run this .reg file:

During off the scanning should fix this for you -- however, you might want to reboot to make
sure that it's still not loaded.
