Ok I dont know if this has been asked before... but anyway
recently after i updated my windows messenger to the latest version, it keeps starting up at bootup inspite of me disabling it from nearly everywhere... from the Services, MSConfig and from the messenger options...
it's really annoying because the thing starts up without my permission..
as of now, i have renamed the messenger folder in order to keep it from starting up... can anyone please tell me a workaround?

Greetings Vinayak,

Do you have Norton Antivirus installed? Recent versions of Norton Antivirus added a new
"instant messaging scanning" feature, which can conflict with Messenger and cause it to also
keep starting. To stop it, open Norton Antivirus (Right-click on the Norton Antivirus icon in
the System Tray/Notification Area (by the clock), choose 'Open Norton Antivirus'), click
Options, then Instant Messenger then uncheck MSN Instant Messenger and click OK.
