Windows Messenger pop up

I am constantly getting an infuriating pop up called .NET Messenger Service
Staff - Conversation, which tells me to update my security and 'Allow List'
.. I tried accessing the website they showed - but am told to change my
'Default browser'. I have no other problems with the internet and never use
Windows Messenger. Should I just delete all Win Messenger files?
