Does anyone know how to get rid of this pop-up box? It
continually pops up while online and tells me I have to
install a newer version if I want to continue. I rarely
use IE instant messenger -- I'm assuming that is what it
is for, as it has the IE messenger logo, so I
clicked "No" -- however, it continues to pop up (3 days
now) every few seconds, so I clicked "yes" -- it
installed instantly, but nothing changed -- it still
continually pops up, and my IE looks the same. It is
still asking if I want to install it. I looked in the
control panel hoping I could uninstall it, but it is not
listed under add/remove probrams. I have it minimized on
the taskbar now, but it simply will not go away, and
comes right back upon rebooting as soon as I go online.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Try Start, Run, type in msconfig, then select 'Selective startup', click on
the Startup tab and deselect Instant messenger. Then reboot. You only
actually need to select Scanregistry, Taskmonitor, System Tray, Load Power
Profile and any antivirus sofware and firewall.
