Windows Messenger: Getting Someone Elses Messages

K

Karen

Whenever I start Windows and get online,
I am automatically signed into someone else's messenger
account and have their messages popping up. Some time
ago, while I was signed into my .Net Passport for my
email, someone else used my computer and now I am
constantly getting their Windows Messenger messages.
Even when I click Exit, it still launches and pops up
their messages.
How do I stop this from happening and get rid of the icon
from appearing all together??? I don't use Windows
Messenger myself.
Thanks!!!

Greetings Karen,

Firstly, remove their Passports info by clicking the Start Button, then click the Control
Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on
the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In
the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'.

Then, to stop Windows Messenger from starting, simply close it if its open (right-click the
Windows Messenger icon and choose Exit), and disable it from loading when you start your
computer (open up the main Windows Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Options, then
Preferences, then uncheck 'Run this program when Windows starts' or 'Run Windows Messenger
when Windows starts' (depending on version) and click OK.
