Windows Messenger Compatible with AIM ?

Hello. I use Windows Messenger and my girlfriends uses
AOL's AIM. Is there anyway I can add her to my Contact
List in Messenger? Can she sign up with .NET Passport
and use it with AIM? Maybe then I could add her to my
Contacts. Is there anything I can do besides one of us
switching to the other's software? Thank you for your

Okay, thanks for your help Jonathan. This Trillian
doesn't come with any adware/spyware stuff, does it?
