Windows Messenger 5.1 Alerts

Is there a way to stop the receiving of sounds when I get a message and am
set as away? e.g. Windows Messenger automatically sets me as away after 5
mins of inactivity. Someone messages me and I receive a loud sound notifying
me even though I am set as away.

Hi there. Disable the sound notifications in your control Panel/Sounds and Audio Device settings.
