Windows Messenger 5.0 and presence server

Messenger 4.7 supported client-based presence. I've read
that 5.0 supports a server-based presence, in which the
client uploads the current presence to the server. How
is this enabled? Is there a setting on the client which
tells it that it should start doing this? Registry? Is
it something that it detects when it sends a SIP REGISTER
to the registrar? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Oh! Is there a Windows Messenger 5.0? Didn't know, where
can you download it from?
