I had problems using version 5.0 to someone using 4.7 -
is there a know issue.

Should I ( a XP home) user be using 5.0 - whats the
difference ?

Thanks

Charlie

Greetings Charlie,

There's really no need to be using 5.0 unless you want to make use of Universal Plug and Play
(UPnP) file transfer, TabletPC digital ink support and/or need support for a corporate
instant messaging solution.

There shouldn't any issues, what specifically isn't working?

Jonathan,

Its the dreaded audio problem. It works fine if I'm using
MSN messsenger to contacts using WM 4.7 or MSN 6.1. I'll
re-install 4.7 and give it a try.

Thanks

Charlie

Jonathan,

No it didn't. Its really odd MSN messenger works fine both
audio & video to another XP user (who is using both WM &
MSN mess). But when I exit MSN and re-start WM we cannot
get a audio connection. "Network Problems" are reported.

I did notice that the Internet Gateway icon has
disappeared from my network connections window. Which i
throught may indicate Upnp and been disabled. However as I
said MSN messenger works fine with audio.

I've now got the "internet Gateway" icon back - but have
yet to re-test with windows messnger.

Shall report back
