I recently bought a computer and I have been installing
several software programs on it and I also installed a 3
in 1 photo printer. I started getting messages saying
that Windows was low on virtual memory. I wanted to know
how I would go about getting a lot more memory put on my
computer so that I never have memory problems and my
system starts to crash.
Anyone that can help me PLEASE email me and let me
know.
Thanks in advance!

You will need to buy more RAM from a computer store. They
will be able to install it for you if you do not feel
comfortable doing it yourself.

Well, one way would be to increase Virtual memory first. If you have plenty
of secondary (HD) space just push the limit of Virtual memory up to four
times the physical memory (RAM). In W2k this is in My Computer, Properties,
Advanced, Performance Options, Virtual memory-Change.

The down side of increasing Virt memory over RAM is that your machine spends
more time swopping. To see if you are really hitting the limit here look at
the value Available memory in Task Manager, Perforrmance under Physical
memory (K). W2K does a pretty good job balancing the amount of RAM set aside
for Systemcache and Available memory, especially after it is running a
couple of hours; don't look at these values right after a reboot.
