windows media player9 freezes

i am running xp pro fully updated.when i am playing audio in wmp9,the
visualisation and the progress bar stop working,but the music keeps
playing.any ideas on this annoying error.thanks a bunch

XP Pro fully upgraded would have WMP10.

See if that fixes it.

thanks for that,galen.I am wary of using wmp10 due to bad feedback i have
read on the newsgroups.if i download wmp10 and don't like it,is it a simple
procedure to revert to wmp9

You can just roll back via add-remove in the control panel (click show
updates IIRC) and you'll be back to WMP9. I've not had any issues with it at
all though.
