Windows media player version 9 starts up immediately when
i boot up the pc. How do i prevent it from running upon
startup/booting the machine?

Thx!
Diane

Diane;
Start/Programs/Startup/find WMP/right click/Delete/Delete shortcut? Yes.
Hope this helps. Let us know.

Wes,

Could you ls explain in more detail what you mean
by "Start/Programs/Startup/find WMP/right
click/Delete/Delete shortcut?". The machine that this is
occurring on is running ms xp home ed.

Thx so very much,
Diane

Diane,

Click Start, Programs (or All Programs as appropriate) and expand the
Startup sub folder. Look for a shortcut reference to Windows Media Player,
or any type of audio or video file. Right click this shortcut and select
Delete.

You may also want to go to Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG Go to the
Startup tab.

Diane;
Looks like Doug Knox, MS-MVP has already done this. :-)
I have XP Home, however, I use the Classic Start Menu. Hence the confusion.
