I am useing windows xp pro right now wich comes with wmp
9.0. Is there any way i can install the 7.1 version
somewhere as well? could i have both versions running?

Hi Mahai,

As I currently understand it - no. You can only install one version, and you
cannot regress to a version earlier than the one that comes with WinXP.

You can't have both, I don't believe. What do you think V7.1 can do that V9
cannot?

As an alternative, you can get Media Player Classic from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/guliverkli/mpc2kxp6461.zip?download
It's a freeware media player that uses the codecs on your machine. Many
people like it a lot.

I need the older version because. I have a subscription
to a soccer club website from england. That doesnt' run
9.0 yet. And to be able to watch the highlights of the
games i need the 7.1
