When I try to load Media Player I get message: "The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL." Fear some file has been deleted by an Adware/Spyware removal program. Was told can only be fixed by reinstalling Windows XP, during which process I will lose everything on harddrive. Do I have any other alternative?

Bollocks. Who told you that ?

Get the .dll from here :

http://www.dll-files.com/

and search for msdart.dll

Download it, unzip it and put it in c:\windows\system32

Cheers,
Jerry

Thank you, Jerry, for the response. (Dell Support gave me that info, by the way). Found msdart.dll file and downloaded it, unzipped it and placed it in C:\I386\SYSTEM32. However, I still get same "The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL." message. Is there a further step? Jocodo
