Windows Media Player--Won't Run

Is this the right forum for this? Lately I cannot get Windows media Player
to run. Whenever I try I get an error message tot he effect that it
encountered a proble and needs to close. There is no further explanation,
although I am asked if I want to send a report to Microsoft. I know they
are carefully examiining my many reports about this but I am sure they are
too busy to respond yet. meanwhile, I downloaded Windows Media Player 10
and installed it, but had the same problem. I cannot see where to uninstall
it. Any suggestions?

Joe, do a check for Malware. Use these sites. Also, check for the latest
updates from MS.

Good idea. I have run Adaware since the problem started, but I'll give the
others a whirl.

Unfortunately, I ran several program slike AdAware and also did a virus
scan, but Windows Media Player still will not run. Any suggestions?
